Drake Mechanical has been family owned and operated for the past 30 years and been serving the Treasure Valley from doing Plumbing work in Boise, to Heating  and furnace work in Meridian, Cooling and Air Conditioning work in Eagle, Boilers in Nampa, to drain cleaning and new plumbing fixtures in Caldwell and beyond.   Dick Drake, founder Drake Mechanical with his son Rick, began his plumbing career under the careful tutelage of his father and grandfather while working at his grandfather’s plumbing company, Drake Brothers Plumbing. Both of Dick’s children, Rick Drake and Judy Chivers now run Drake Mechanical and have benefited from their father’s vast knowledge of the plumbing, heating, and air conditioning trades. They continue to adhere to the traditional values of honesty and integrity set forth by past generations.

Prior to that the Drake Family came to Boise in the mid 1800's and were a major part of homesteading the Treasure Valley.  In 1909 they started Drake and Sons Plumbing and Heating, In 1978 Dick Drake and Rick Drake Branched off and started Drake Mechanical which has become one of the top Plumbing, Heating and Air conditioning service and installation shops in the valley that is built on trust, integrity, quality service and our reputation for making sure that you-the customer is taken care of from start to finish and are completely satisfied.

The Drake family has created a loyal customer base with their quality products and quality work ethic – the backbone of the business. We currently employ certified journeyman and apprentices and hand-select each employee according to their skill level, dependability, professionalism and, most importantly, their integrity.

Generation after generation, The Drake’s have been serving all of the Treasure Valley since 1909. 4th and 5th generations Rick, his sister Judy and Rick’s son Nick are all still hard at work in the family business to ensure that you receive the same personal care and attention that Drake Mechanical has come to be known for.

Meet the Office Team

Rick Drake, CEO
Rick oversees the everyday affairs of the 30+ employee operation.  He currently Holds the HVAC contractors license for the State of Idaho, and the Plumbing and HVAC license for the state of Oregon.

Judy Chivers, Secretary/Treasurer
Judy’s attention to detail assures that the duties in the office will be handled with care from beginning to end.

Rick Hazzard Service Manager
Rick Hazzard recieved his Plumbing Journeyman license in 1999 in South Dakota.  Moved to Idaho in 2000 and started with Drake Mechanical.  Went to RSES schooling and received his Journeyman card as an HVAC Journeyman in Idaho in 2004 and started as our service manager in 2011.   Rick is currently NATE Certified along with many other certifications and licenses including HVAC controls licenses to Healty Air Specialist for Bryant.

Nick Drake, New Commercial Project Manager
Rick’s son Nick has jumped into the family business with both feet. Nick Recieved his Journeyman Plumbing license in 2001, recieved his Plumbing Contractors license with the state of Idaho in 2005, Contractors lincense in the State of North Dakota in 2011, and currently runs the new construction and remodel side of the business from Estimating to Project Management.    He has also since taken on the role of marketing and business development.
