It is that time of year again. in order to save yourself money on your utilities its time to get your air conditioning system serviced and cleaned which includes the following:

1. Clean condenser and check for coil damage. Dirt, Grass or any foreign material on the condenser reduces the ability for heat to transfer so the unit has to run longer and costs you money.

2. Check all operating pressures of the refrigerant. Improper refrigerant charge can damage the compressor or lower the efficiency of the system and cause a higher electric bill

3. Test compressor and motors for voltage and amperage draws. This extends the life of your compressor and major electrical components of your system.

4. Test all safety features. This is essential for proper equipment operation and insures that your system will shut down if there is ever a problem.

5. Lubricate all moving parts as per manufacturer’s specification. Poor lubrication causes components to drag and create electrical overload which results in higher bills and equipment failure.

6. Check all ducts for leaks. Duct leaks in non-conditioned areas will cause poor system performance and improper heating/cooling results in energy bills

7. Test temperature differences, this double checks efficient operation of unit.

8. Check blower assembly. By maintaining proper alignment and making sure all components are clean you will insure adequate airflow and increase your comfort.

9. Check all filters. Dirty or blocked filters can cause reduced air flow and shorten the life of the compressor.

10. Apply environmental sealer to condensing unit, helps to protect unit from exposure to the elements.
