About Us

The Drake family has cared for your plumbing, heating, and air conditioning needs in the Treasure Valley since 1909. Drake Mechanical is the only five-generation plumbing, heating, and air conditioning company in the Treasure Valley and is still family-owned and operated. Drake Mechanical has been serving the Treasure Valley, from plumbing in Boise to heating and furnace work in Meridian, wet side cooling and air conditioning work in Eagle, boilers in Nampa, drain cleaning, and new plumbing fixtures in Caldwell and beyond. Nick Drake, the fifth-generation owner of Drake Mechanical, began his plumbing career under the careful instruction of his father (Rick) and his grandfather (Dick). Rick Drake ran Drake Mechanical with his sister, Judy Chivers, and they benefited from their father’s vast knowledge of the plumbing, heating, and air conditioning trades.

Before taking care of plumbing, heating, and air conditioning, the Drake Family came to Boise in the mid-1800s and was a major part of homesteading the Treasure Valley and Idaho City. In 1909 they started Drake and Sons Plumbing and Heating, and in 1978 Dick Drake and Rick Drake Branched off from Drake Plumbing and started Drake Mechanical, which has become the number one plumbing, heating, and air conditioning service and installation shop in the Treasure Valley, Drake Mechanical is built on trust, integrity, quality service and our reputation for making sure that you-the customer is taken care of from start to finish and are completely satisfied.

The Drake family has created a loyal customer base with their quality products and work ethic – the backbone of the business. We currently employ certified journeymen and apprentices and hand-select each employee according to their skill level, dependability, professionalism, and, most importantly, integrity.

Generation after generation, The Drakes have served the Treasure Valley since 1909. 4th and 5th generations
