Signs your home’s air needs help
Dust, pollen, pet dander and stale air circulate through your heating and cooling system every day. Idaho’s dry climate adds its own problems, from dry skin and sinus irritation to cracked wood floors. A dirty or wrong-size filter is also one of the most common causes of furnace and AC breakdowns.
Whole-house air quality, built into your HVAC
The most consistent way to improve indoor air is to build filtration, purification and humidity control into your existing furnace or air conditioner. Our technicians assess your system and recommend the right combination, then install and maintain it.
You get your options and a clear price before any work starts.
Air cleaners, HEPA and UV lights
For cleaner air than a standard filter can deliver, we install whole-house media air cleaners (MERV 11 to 13 with a 1–2 year filter life), hybrid electronic air cleaners with MERV 16-level filtration, ducted True HEPA systems, which capture 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns, and UV lights that keep mold and bacteria from growing on your air conditioner’s coil and drain pan.
Humidifiers and carbon monoxide alarms
A whole-house bypass or powered humidifier connected to your furnace restores moisture to every room, with an automatic control so it adjusts on its own. We also install, test and replace carbon monoxide and combination smoke/CO alarms. Every home with a gas furnace, water heater or other fuel-burning appliance should have them. For fresh air without losing heat, see heat recovery ventilators.

This is the second time Bryce has done repairs on my AC. He is so kind & knowledgeable and is thorough in explaining the issue and how it is being fixed. AC units are too expensive to replace & I appreciate that Bryce found other solutions.

Common questions
Have a question that isn’t here? Call us any time at (208) 362-6200.
Where can I get the right furnace filter?
We stock filters in every common and custom size, from standard 1-inch pleated filters to 5-inch media filters, in MERV ratings from 10 to 16, and you can order them from our online filter store or have us replace them on a service visit.
How often should I change my furnace filter?
Check a standard 1-inch filter every month and change it at least every one to three months, more often with pets, allergies or construction dust. Thicker 4- and 5-inch media filters usually last much longer. A dirty filter is a common cause of furnace and AC problems.
What MERV rating should my filter be?
MERV ratings show how well a filter catches small particles; higher numbers catch more. MERV 10 is a good everyday filter, while MERV 13 and up captures much finer particles for allergies and asthma. Very high-MERV filters need a system that can handle them, so we’ll recommend what fits your equipment.
Do I need a whole-house humidifier?
Idaho’s air is dry, especially with the furnace running. If you notice dry skin, static shocks, nosebleeds, or wood floors and furniture cracking in winter, a whole-house humidifier connected to your furnace adds moisture to every room automatically. We install bypass and powered humidifiers with automatic controls.
Where should carbon monoxide alarms go?
Near every sleeping area and on each level of the home, as local code requires, and near fuel-burning appliances such as furnaces and water heaters. Test them monthly and replace them when they reach the end of their life. We install CO and combination smoke/CO alarms and test existing ones.
What should I do if I smell gas or my carbon monoxide alarm goes off?
Get everyone out of the house right away, leave doors open behind you, and don’t switch lights or appliances on or off. From outside, call 911 and your gas company. Once it’s safe, call us and we’ll find and fix the cause.
