Are All Electric Motors Created Equally?

The answer to this is no. There are a few different types of motors and some use more energy than others. There are PSC motors that are in most heating and cooling equipment, these electric motors are not as energy efficient as a ECM motor. ECM motors are typically more energy efficient and are found in the higher end HVAC equipment. Don’t worry however because most of the time we can swap out your PSC motor for an ECM motor which will improve the efficiency of your existing HVAC equipment.
